Cookie Policy

Last updated: 15 August 2026

Cookies are small files a site stores in your browser. NewRemit uses them sparingly: only what the service needs to work. We set no advertising cookies and run no cross-site tracking.

Cookies we set

  • Authentication (essential). When you sign in, Supabase session cookies (names beginning with sb-) keep you signed in securely between pages and visits. Without them, accounts can’t work.
  • Checkout (essential, third party). If you start a subscription, Stripe sets cookies on its own checkout pages for payment security and fraud prevention. See Stripe’s cookie policy for details.

Local storage

A few things are kept in your browser’s local storage, not cookies. None of them is sent to us:

  • your light/dark theme preference,
  • your comparison-view preference on the money-transfers page,
  • after you sign in, a small snapshot of your account identity (user id, email, name) so the page can show your signed-in state instantly on your next visit — written at sign-in and removed when you sign out,
  • on pages with maps, the Mapbox map library stores a technical identifier that it uses for its own service telemetry (see Mapbox’s privacy policy).

Analytics without cookies

We measure site usage and collect error reports with PostHog in cookieless mode, hosted in the EU. It sets no cookies and stores nothing in your browser; page views are counted with a short-lived, server-side technique that cannot follow you across sites, and error reports describe faults in our software, not you.

Managing cookies

You can delete or block cookies in your browser settings at any time. Blocking the essential cookies will sign you out and disable account-based features; the public comparison pages keep working.

Changes and contact

If our cookie use changes, we will update this page and its date. Questions: hello@newremit.io.
